Imaging Insider received an e-mail Monday, August 18, 2008, in response to one of our posts that originated from the Leica User Forum where it was speculated that Leica was considering rebranding Canon DSLRs. Well, the e-mail we received stated, “I work for Leica USA. It’s true, it’s true, it’s true…… None of us at this office believed it at first, but trust me, it’s true.”

While we are currently unable to confirm the identity and reliability of the e-mail Imaging Insider continues to get more information on htis issue.

well, I would be very interested in this. I have been asking the Canon folks to bring out a digital 7 for the longest. For those that do not remember, the 7 series was one of canon’s fine answers to the Leica.

I ouwl be happy with a AP-C cmos in an old OWL, fast accurate rangefinder, or a Hexar AF with Canon chip or the new Nikon chip.
